Showcasing attitude and ferociousness, Northern lads The Goa Express just had to be in the ICM Ones To Watch 2021 series.

Hailing from the industrial towns of Burnley and Todmorden, members  James Douglas (vocals & guitar) and Joe Clarke (keys), Joey Stein (guitar), Naham Muzaffar (bass) and Sam Launder (percussion) have been tearing things up with singles ‘Be My Friend’ and ‘The Day’.

Taking influence from The Brian Jonestown Massacre and Spacemen 3, The Goa Express are making inroads into the indie rock scene in impeccable fashion. Their sonic psych rock, driving vocals and fuzzy guitars make for good listening on a live stage in a cramped and sweaty music venue – not that we can do that again anytime soon.

The Goa Express are perfect at capturing their youthful days from sleeping outside Tesco to long days working at bookies and well-boozed nights out. The band may pursue the ‘old skool’ approach to their music, but certainly know how to ooze charm and wreak havoc – which is exactly what everyone is craving.

To summarise, The Goa Express create attention-capturing psych rock song that are unapologetically riotous.
