The time has come, 30 days and 30 artists later we round off our ICM Ones To Watch 2021 series today with Manchester’s dazzling new pop queen Phoebe Green.
Since first hitting the spotlight with debut singles ‘Dreaming Of’ and ‘Easy Peeler’ in 2019, the 23-year-old has been steadily building an aura of excitement around her and has done ever since.
Phoebe Green released her new EP I Can’t Cry For You last month with elated style. Showcasing four infectious new tracks with slick guitar licks, strobe-like beats and lush indie pop melodies.
She wears her heart on her sleeve and creates empowering alternative pop-rock anthems. Packed with deep and meaningful thoughts and melodrama, Phoebe turns the sincere into deep affection.
On the the EP, Phoebe said: “I wanted this EP to depict a time in my life where everything felt very unsettled and unfamiliar, but with a persistent optimism that underpins the whole thing; that’s pretty much what I want ’I Can’t Cry For You’ to embody, the embracing of discomfort of transition and knowing that it’s for the best.”
Despite Phoebe’s social media accounts have been quiet on any new music, however she will undoubtedly have something planned in the coming months.
