Scottish rockers Spyres are already off to a lightning start since their debut last year and that energy is continuing into 2021 as an ICM Ones To Watch artist.

The Glasgow four-piece, comprised of Emily Downie (vocals/guitar), Keira McGuire (vocals/guitar), Jude Curran (bass) and Alex White (drums), are the next name to spring from the city which has deep indie rock roots.

Other Glaswegian act featured in out Ones To Watch series include DEAD PONY and The Snuts as the efficacious underground scene is bursting with visceral appeal.

Through monumental riff-heavy melodies, Spyres have released three singles ‘Fake ID’, ‘Otherside’ and I Don’t Care’. Their driving percussions and hauntingly introspective vocals pack an almighty punch.

By the end of 2019, Spyres had played alongside heavy-hitting Scottish artists such as The Snuts, The Dunts, The Ninth Wave, Lucia & The Best Boys, Declan Welsh & The Decadent West, Pleasure Heads, Rascalton and more.

Then starting 2020 with a sold-out single launch for their second single ‘Fake ID’ February 2020, Spyres went on to support Lauran Hibberd and Nothing But Thieves. Thanks to the pandemic, Spyres also celebrated their first anniversary as a band back in April last year performing live streams for hungry fans.

The band have quickly established themselves as one of Glasgow’s must-watches and are now set to take on what challenge is next. If all goes as planned, Spyres are set to support The Jesus And Mary Chain at Glasgow’s Barrowlands and make debut festival appearances at TRNSMT, Live At Leeds, Hit The North and Sonic Wave.
