Breakthrough artist Arlo Parks features in the ICM Ones To Watch 2021 series for her breathtaking blend of lo-fi, indie pop, soul and bedroom pop.

The winner of ICM Awards 2020 Best Lockdown Cover for her take on Radiohead’s ‘Creep’, voted for by you, is just the beginning of a statement of intentions from Arlo Parks. Known to her friends and family as Anaïs Oluwatoyin Estelle Marinho.

At aged 20, she’s hit the mainstream market in empowering fashion. Hotly tipped by many critics, including the BBC, Arlo parks has been labelled as “the voice of generation Z”. The LGBTQ poet and singer-songwriter speaks her mind and the nations young minds by embracing and exploring the queer experience.

Her upcoming album Collapsed in Sunbeams (due January 29th) discusses those on a personal level such as ‘Eugene’ which is about falling for a straight friend. The album will also feature hit singles ‘Black Dog’ and ‘Green Eyes’.

Following suit like fellow newcomers Beabadoobee and Benee, Arlo parks’ songs invite you in on a deep, heartwarming approach which listeners just can’t seem to get enough of at the moment.

Taking to the likes of Frank Ocean and Sufjan Stevens is she the hidden voice we’ve been craving?
