The Vices deliver The Strokes-esque indie rock with rhythmic twangs

Dutch quartet The Vices spread The Strokes-esque indie rock with rhythmic twangs and pure drumming.

Releasing their lead single ‘Looking for Faces’ last month for their upcoming debut album, the band have quickly racked up hundreds of thousands of streams and are rapidly growing outside their hometown of Groningen.

The track is a sub-three minute blast of high-octane indie rock with soaring vocals and prominent drumming that sounds so pure.

Speaking of ‘Looking for Faces’, frontman Floris van Luijtelaar said: “‘Looking for Faces’ is about finding your own face and the journey it belongs to.

“Along the way you find yourself on the highest peaks and lowest lows, ‘looking for love on the faces of the people on the street’ after a break-up or passing of a loved one. These experiences impact you.

“On this album, and specifically this song, I discovered that for as long as you observe the world around you, think about what you see and trust your intuition, life will indeed shape you, but you can add your own signature to it. And then everything starts to become more fun…”

Comprising of Floris van Luijtelaar (vocals/guitar), Jonathan Kruizenga (keys/guitar), Simon Bleeker (bass) and Mathijs Louwsma (drums), The Vices kicked off their career at the start of 2019, supporting Yungblud twice and Feeder later in the year while releasing two EPs.

The debut album ‘Looking for Faces’ is out March 12th via Mattan Records. Pre-order here.
