The Riot Vans are the newest punk rock sensations from Glasgow

Glaswegian-based punk rockers The Riot Vans send shivers down your spine with a tasty new recipe that’s ready to hit the country.

The four-piece’s new single ‘Scary Faces’ slaps you in the face with gritty riffs and snarling vocals. Their abundance of energy s the perfect antidote to the drudgery of life under lockdown – a very, very bright shining light for 2021 at the end of what’s been a long tunnel.

Their chord progression reminds me of the iconic single ‘Echoes’ by The Rapture, which was widely recognised in the UK as the intro music to hit TV show Misfits

Comprising of Charlie Stewart – Guitar, vocals and keys, Aidan Armory – Guitar and vocals, Jack Rennie – Bass, vocals and keys and Adam Neville – Drums and vocals, The Riot Vans have the potential to become a dominant feature in the Scottish capital and beyond.

Since their formation in 2017, their relentless enthusiasm and seriously infectious songwriting credentials has seen them release ‘Scotrail’s Stealing All My Money’ is an audio attack at ScotRail’s extortionate ticket prices, while ‘Memory Lane’ is spoken word hooliganism at its best.

Speaking of their new single ‘Scary Faces’, the band commented: “Scary Faces’ is effectively an amalgamation of things we thought sounded cool.”

The track is out now, under their recently signed-to label Disobedient Records.
