North West six-piece Reclaim Vienna have shared new single ‘Joker’, the band’s latest cut of upbeat, 80’s soaked synth-pop.
Main songwriter Danny Smith said: “Joker is one of the first songs the band wrote. It’s a song that has stayed with us from the start, so we felt it right to release it as a single. Working remotely with producer Ben Booker, we now have a song that is a cross genre Pop / Dance / Rock track.
The song could easily be construed as a love song but the ‘she’ in the lyrics actually personifies any idea or thought that plays on your mind and cannot be shifted. It’s about the relentless pursuit of divisiveness and confrontation. It’s about confrontation, anger but also resolution.
Even though this song was written a few years ago we feel the lyrics are more relevant now than they have ever been.”
