Five Bands That Need to Make a Comeback

Some of the biggest names in the music industry have been on a hiatus and returned to the scene with a bang. Names like: Fleetwood Mac, Blink 182, The Wombats and Mumford & Sons. Unfortunately, not every band seems to push through the hiatus barrier, leaving some to be swallowed into the darkness of dead bands, never to return. Today, I look to explore some bands that absolutely need to make a return to the fold!
Two Door Cinema Club –

Where you at? Honestly though, I couldn’t think of a single indie fan who didn’t like TDCC. The Northern Irelander’s Indie Rock was sensational, and they sought resounding success with two albums leaving behind tunes, with the likes of ‘What You Know’ and ‘Something Good Can Work’. Not many indie bands on the circuit at the moment can say that they can create a solid indie dance track the way Two Door could and that gap in the market needs to be filled!

Vampire Weekend –

Nobody embodies 20th-century indie better than Vampire Weekend. New York City’s very own joyful indie quartet dominated the summer of 2007 with a tour that would see them showcase an absolute throwback of a tune, ‘A-Punk’. A wicked song with an iconic music video to match, Vampire Weekend won the hearts of millions across the globe. Sadly the band has been awfully quiet since 2014 when they collaborated with Spotify for a one off session.

Phoenix –

The Frenchie four Piece Phoenix have been ever so quiet. The group’s eclectic ‘80s upbringing paved way for their satisfying blend of rock and synth. Their last album, which was released mid-April 2013, called Bankrupt! Their most notable work is the masterpiece album ‘Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix’ which features 2009 classics such as ‘Lisztomania’ and ‘1901’.

Razorlight-

Apparently it’s a musical crime being a Razorlight fan. Well, if that’s the case, arrest me now because I LOVE Razorlight. The Londoners Razorlight formed in 2002 and two years later rocked our worlds with their first album ‘Up All Night’. You only have to search them on Spotify to remember how many tunes the four piece rock-pop group had. Golden Touch, America, In The Morning. I could listen to these songs all day long. A comeback would be most appreciated.

The White Stripes –

The White Stripes single handedly put rock duos on the map. The simplistic drumming from Sister Meg White, formidable guitar and stage presence from the legendary Jack White made the pair into a force to be reckoned with. They not only created one of the most overplayed rock songs of all time, ‘Seven Nation Army’, but the pair covered the likes of Dolly Parton’s ‘Jolene’. The White Stripes are legendary, certainly inspiring the likes of duos such as The Black Keys and Royal Blood. A return from the pair would send sound waves of epic proportions across the industry and would definitely make Royal Blood step up their game!
