Artist Spotlight: Honey Lung

Honey Lung

Another week another incredible band to be showcased in our Artist Spotlight article here on IndieCentralMusic. This week we have a band who I’ve been listening to for a while and am amazed I haven’t yet covered them. Honey Lung are a band who float between indie rock and more shoegazey/psychedelic vibes and completely blew me away from the beginning.

Honey Lung are a London born four piece who feel like they’re bringing the early days of Slowdive back and indeed shoegaze as a genre at the forefront of the indie scene. With their debut release ‘Something’ and B-side ‘End of Time’, Honey Lung (a trio at the time) blew away critics, bloggers, radio presenters, and listeners. It became one of my most listened to records in the February 2017 box of Flying Vinyl.

Since then we’ve seen two single releases of ‘Sophomore‘ and ‘Stuttering Mind’. Both singles were absolutely incredible, with the big noise you get from a shoegaze track and mind blowing effects. It feels like a total reawakening of shoegaze and we’re yet to find a band who’ve done this as well as Honey Lung have.

With plays across huge Spotify playlists and even bigger radio shows, Honey Lung are set for something huge. Are they going to be at the forefront of the shoegaze revival? We certainly hope so.

HONEY LUNG ARE: Jamie Batten, Charlie Gardener, David Sherry and Omri Covo.
