Trudy And The Romance release second cut from upcoming EP

Trudy And The Romance

Following up on ‘Is There A Place I Can Go’, Trudy And The Romance share the second single from their Junkyard Jazz EP, ‘Twist It, Shake It. Rock & Roll’.

With whip-smart imagination and tongues firmly lodged in cheeks, Trudy and the Romance are a brand new take on 50’s slow-jam rock with a velvet voice and licks and riffs for days.

Born of a bygone era; the days when sharply-suited Teds strolled the streets and a sea-breeze would fail to fuck the flicks of a head well-oiled, Trudy take the good-hearted ramshackles off Jonathan Richman, punch out The Four Freshmen’s surf harmonies and scruff them up through the raw audacity of the noughties whilst tightrope-dancing somewhere between reality and fantasy.

The band said about the EP; “For a while I’ve wanted to write a record with the swagger of Jonathan Richman. Jonathan like the Beatles, Beach Boys and Springsteen cheers me up whatever the weather. My head was still a little mashed after someone I care about deeply got badly, Twist It, Shake It. Rock & Roll is a record for the stiff necks to lighten up a little; to love and understand what you actually want and not listen to the gang. See where it goes with a new flame.

“A true friend loves you for who you are. I’m an old soul and I miss the old world. Rock & Roll, shake up the world and get on with it. Don’t be cynical, try to not be boring. Hopefully this record will stir up that melancholic purple in your heart and give you a big fat old grin whilst doing so.”

Junkyard Jazz EP is being released by B3SCI Records and will be available on the 17th of November. Trudy head off on a UK headline tour this autumn supporting The Fall in Newcastle and Happyness in London along the way. (see below)
