The Ornament Birds

London-based psych pop outfit The Ornament Birds release new single ‘Pashu’ embodying pop groove and atmospheric samples.

The four-piece in South London have spent the past three years in the capital’s live music circuit with their cryptic-sounding psychedelia.

As a group, The Ornament Birds write interesting pop songs without letting losing their mystical and atmospheric shape. More recently the band have started recording at the Hackney Road Studios with Shuta Shinoda rather than doing it all in a shed at the end of one of their gardens. ‘Peshu’ is just the first in a string of tracks expected to come later in the year.

On their songwriting, the band said: “We write about how we see things but don’t use any easy clichés, so it can sound cryptic when in fact it really isn’t.”

With a range of different influences including Animal Collective, Gang Gang Dance, Interpol, My Bloody Valentine, the Beach Boys, Women and Talking Heads, The Ornament Birds have an interesting sound and we look forward to hearing more.
