Even if the current situation has changed slightly Sports Team’s plan to release their debut album Deep Down Happy, they are keeping to feed their hungry fans with single. The first release is called ‘Here’s The Thing’, and the latest is titled ‘Going Soft’ and, let me tell you, it is an experience.

Being categorised as the most “chaotic” band around, Sports Team live up to the expectations delivering an euphoric and electrifying performance in ‘Going Soft’, enriched by vintage-sounding guitar riffs and vocals that seem out of a 50s album. The video is pretty particular as well, as it shows a sequence of fan footage from their gigs: it hints at a nostaligc feeling, maybe because of the whole tragicity that surrounds us now… but the good times are going to come back, hopefully soon. Once again though, I don’t think that Sports Team haven’t left their comfort zone, being loyal to their overall style: an all-over-the-place, fun, rocking rhythm accompanied by over-excited vocals and phrasing. Their whole discography is almost a provocation: they present themselves as true leaders of old fashioned indie rock, but the question is: are they succeeding? Gradually, yes. They are affirming a reputation around, and the only fact that they are a 6-piece-band talks for itself. We are certainly curious about what their final debut is going to sound like and, to be fair, we can’t quite wait.
