Shape Pitaki produce electrifying alt rock with punk attitudes

Orange County trio Shape Pitaki have released new single ‘The Disease’ from their upcoming EP.
Despite its uncoincidental well-timed release, the alt rock track was recorded last year. Comprised of Shane Thompson (vocals, guitar), Greg Johnson (bass, vocals) and Mike Willson (drums), the band are an eclectic rock group with their sound being influenced by the great songwriters of the 60s and 70s, some punk attitude from the 80s, and melodies and guitar tones from the 90s-2000s.
Think Foo Fighters, Jet, Arcade Fire, Smashing Pumpkins and The Beetles all sitting round a table deciding “let’s start a band together” – how cool would that sound?
‘The Disease’, is about the frustration of finding truthful information in our present culture. Information is so plentiful that it’s difficult to come by the stuff that makes sense, even if it doesn’t agree with your personal opinions – like in the lyrics “Don’t follow your leaders, they just ain’t got your back”.
The song will be featured on their upcoming EP entitled ‘Let’s Get Gnarly & Die’. The release date and tour is unfortunately up in the air right now along with the whole world, but it will be released.
For now though, the band said they “hope you enjoy the song and at least have a laugh during these challenging times”.
