Reardon Love

Fusing 80s disco pop nostalgia and melodic indie rock, Reardon Love return with their sophomore single ‘Locked in the Panopticon’.

Since forming in the autumn of 2018, the Hull-based quartet are armed with a message so staunch you are at one with their disdain for prejudice, these social justice warriors are already informing those that want to hear… and those that don’t.

“Governments are becoming more totalitarian through the aid of media manipulation, subliminal messages and social media advertisements,” said the band. Comprised of Matt Fletcher – Guitar/Vocals, Dan Wilby – Bass Guitar, Lewis Tillison – Drums/Percussion and Josh Chesman – Synth/Guitar, take nods to The Cure, Nothing But Thieves, The Killers and more.

‘Locked in the Panopticon’ is a synth-based bop with sweet melodic riffs. The vocals flow with ease over the strong backbeat giving a contemporary sound.

In the lyric video for the track, the theme of CCTV camera watching our every move just highlights the power that governments and security services have over us.

Aiming to “champion the underdog, hail the outsider and liberate the falsely accused,” as their bio states, this single is certainly no different. Whatever the destination, be it global domination or social suicide, Reardon Love promise it will be one hell of a journey. Watch below and leave an ICM Star Rating out of 10!
