Dreamy pop star Pipin has just dropped her third single ‘Can’t Be Friends’ today with energised synth hooks and a captivating chorus.

A newcomer to the music scene in her native Australia, the 24-year-old artist has established herself through the release of two singles ‘Crowded’ and ‘Growing Pains’.

This new track has adrenaline-fuelled alt pop at heart with electronic pop kaleidoscope on full rotation. It’s an energetic pop track touching on the experience of outgrowing, expanding and moving on from friendships.

Having lived in five of Australia’s eight states and territories, Pipin [known as Brisbane singer-songwriter Bec Hoole] is no stranger to the shuffle of friendship groups and the beauty of finding connections anywhere that you go.

Recorded at Out With The In Studios in Brisbane’s West End and mixed and mastered in London, UK by Alex L’Estrange, the song takes a turn in the pop direction and is sure to make you groove.

Pipin has been gaining popularity since breaking into the indie pop scene earlier this year. She has forged a creative partnership with producer and multi-instrumentalist Hugh Middleton (Mid Ayr) to compose glittering soundscapes that express Pipin’s inner dialogue and cathartically deal with the confusion, emotion and joy that come with being a person.

‘Can’t Be Friends’ is the third track in an upcoming EP due to be released in early spring 2021. Have a listen below and leave an ICM Star Rating out of 10.
