Pentire create indie rock for the post-jangle generation

Brought up on a diet of The Killers, Paolo Nutini and Stereophonics, indie rockers Pentire are making pop songs for the post-jangle generation.

The Herefordshire four-piece had a landmark year in 2023 with a UK tour, BBC Radio 1 on Jack Saunders’ Future Sounds and the release of their debut EP Now In A Minute

To mark their dominance for 2024, Pentire has dropped the anthemic earworm ‘Don’t Let Your Love (Let You Down)’ under new label Scruff of the Neck. Infectious melodies and festival-worthy choruses are backed up with meaningful lyrics on temptation and how it rarely ends well.

Pentire comprises of frontman and principal songwriter Jack who formed a band with his best mate Owen in the sleepy town of Ross-on-Wye. The two friends met drummer Jake and bass player Jacob whilst at university, which cemented the four-piece. The band tells stories of cheap lager-soaked student life, a small-town upbringing, and the innocence of youth.

There’s a lot of hype brewing around this four-piece and now under indie label Scruff of the Neck, this new step will lead them in the right direction. Check out ‘Don’t Let Your Love (Let You Down)’ below.

The band is also heading out on a UK tour starting in Falmouth on February 28 and finishing in Bristol on March 15th. Get tickets here.
