Papaya Tree – pure indie-rock sweetness

Papaya Tree

Sydney-based indie sextet Papaya Tree have just unveiled tour dates and their striking new cut ‘Youth’.

After releasing their critically praised single ‘Radar’, Papaya Tree has yet again produced a splattered canvas of colourful horns, crooning vocals and pure indie-rock sweetness; guaranteed to pull at those heart strings.

Recorded and produced by Phan Sjarif (Middle Kids) at Parliament Studios, Annandale, ‘Youth’ builds to a frenetic crescendo.  Vividly unmasking the hidden angst of lead singer, Lee McDermott.

Explaining the meaning behind the track, he said: “Youth addresses the age-old wives tale; the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree”.

Off the back of supporting Sex On Toast on their Australian East Coast Tour and a sold out Lansdowne Hotel show earlier in the year, the band will be performing launch parties in both Sydney and Melbourne.

November 30 – Three Eight Six @ Chasers, Melbourne
December 1 – Waywayrds Newton, Sydney

In the coming weeks Papaya Tree will reveal an accompanying music video for ‘Youth’.
