Palace release melancholic new EP ‘Someday, Somewhere’

After the release of their sublime sophomore album ‘Life After’ last summer London band Palace have released their new EP ‘Someday, Somewhere’.

The trio spent the UK lockdown writing and recording this three-tracked record, including new single ‘I’ll Be Fine’, as well as including unreleased tracks recorded during the ‘Life After’ album sessions.

The EP brings out this beautiful melancholic swirl of indie pop sonics. The title track is full of the melodic warmth and rich textures from ‘Life After’ and exudes a laid-back charm and harmony.

‘I’ll Be Fine’ offers more low-tempo tranquility. The delicate guitars are layered and textured like artistically. Palace always seem to release the ideal songs at the most opportune moments, and this is like no other.

‘Fresh to the Fallen’ opens up with a captivating guitar and drenched in reverb. The track is a soft and soothing slow burner with alluding vocals from frontman Leo Wyndham.

“While there are a couple of different threads to the record, ultimately there’s a romance to it alongside a feeling of looking to the future through a new lens.” Says Leo. “While still being aware of the unknown, you can allow yourself to feel hopeful, stronger and grateful for what you’ve got.”

The ‘Someday, Somewhere’ EP also comes with a bonus track; ‘Trouble On The Water’ if purchased on limited edition vinyl. It’s been regularly heard on their live sets and was previously featured on Palace’s Hoxa Sessions acoustic EP.

Film Review: A Cure for Wellness

A Cure for Wellness is brought to us by visionary director Gore Verbinski who’s most well-known for his work on the first three Pirates of the Caribbean films, unfortunately, his last film The Lone Ranger was panned by critics and audiences alike, so you’d think that this time around he’d be playing it safe…
