Modern Age Music Song of the Day: Only The Poets – ‘If You’d Only Try’

Only The Poets are the fast-rising Reading outfit who’s hardworking DIY approach has won them a UK-wide fanbase in just a matter of months.

Their 2019 culminated in a sold-out UK tour including a milestone headline show at London’s Scala. New track ‘If You’d Only Try’ is the quartets second single of 2020, following on from the well-received ‘Waking in the Dark’.

The new release is a slow-paced, poignant pop cut, with delicate piano work and an emotive vocal from singer Tommy.

The band commented: “’If You’d Only Try’ is about supporting someone that is struggling or having a hard time. Reach out to your friends, make sure they are okay.”
