MAM Song of the Week: The Royston Club – ‘Believe It or Not’

The Royston Club are the North Wales self-starters who sprung onto the scene in 2019 with three self-released singles amassing over 115k streams on Spotify.
The Wrexham-based four-piece are building an ever-growing online following, and have followed up last year’s releases with two new singles in 2020. ‘Believe It or Not’ is another catchy track full of snappy indie guitar and hooky vocals.
The band said of the track: “Believe It or Not is about liking a girl and accepting that I would ‘hit the bottom’ metaphorically for her.”
The band cite a wide range of influences: “As a band, musically we’re inspired by the likes of Indoor Pets, Hooton Tennis Club and Catfish and the Bottlemen. Lyrically we also have a wider set of influences including artists like Nick Cave, Leonard Cohen and Easy Life.”
The Royston Club play a headline show at The Jacaranda in Liverpool this Saturday. Tickets are sold out.
