There’s an alt rock volcano waiting to erupt on the Isle of Wight as indie band Lunar share their second single ‘Ignorance’.

Comprised of Kieran Wilkinson – Lead Vocals and Guitar Edan Moorhouse – Lead Guitar, Backing Vocals and Violin Josh Morris – Bass, the outfit will be right up your street if you’re a fan of Nirvana, Stone Temple Pilots, Foo Fighters, Soundgarden or Radiohead.

‘Ignorance’ particularly focuses on their Nirvana and Radiohead influences. As soon as the track opens with the guitar, you have a similar vibe to a lot of Nirvana’s opening songs. The song itself has a huge chorus and the lead line in the chorus uses a whammy to create an ugly octave sound but blends well within the whole context of the song.

Last year Lunar debuted at Isle of Wight Festival – which was only their second gig – and have taken the small island scene by storm, showing tonnes of energy and enthusiasm. As well as this, the group have also partnered with an LGBTQ+ charity.

The band commented: “We’ve partnered up with a company called Dare2BeDifferent which is currently turning into a charity that will be offering a platform for those that suffer with Mental Health conditions in the LGBTQ community a social platform where they can freely express themselves.

“We were lucky enough to play at their launch night and hopefully will be working with them as they grow and expand.”

Once Coronavirus is over the band state that they plan to raise money for charities in the Black Lives Matter movement. As Lunar continues to make waves, check out their lyric video below and leave an ICM Star Rating of the track below.
