James Wood kick-starts solo adventure in stunning indie-folk style

Former frontman of The Gallery’s, James Wood, has released new single ‘Taste for Gold’ as he kick-starts his solo career.

The former face of the Tunbridge Wells indie band ventures into indie-folk territory as ‘Taste for Gold’ is stripped back to the bare bones. This is a stunning start and shows both his maturity as a songwriter and his talent for captivating an audience.

Taking the stripped-back approach puts tonnes more emphasis on each element as the raw guitars and vocals stand loud and proud.

‘Taste for Gold’ is taken from his debut three-track EP including ‘Home’ and ‘My Sweet June’. It was recorded on a shoestring budget in Kent, but the lack of any budget doesn’t show in these stripped back songs of life and love.

James Wood’s influences include Neil Young, Bob Dylan and Jake Bugg, but he has grown his own rich sound powered by his compelling lyrics.

It’s an exciting start to James’s solo career and there’s plenty more to come. Discover the single now and leave a review of your own below.
