Buckinghamshire residents Hounds Haul are fresh faces to the music scene and have just released their third single ‘Riviera’.

The indie rock quartet hail from Milton Keynes and have made great strides since their formation in late 2019.

Comprised of frontman Adam Bosworth and bassist Jamie Smith, lead guitarist Tom Maddams, and keys player Rien De Keyser, they play energetic indie rock with synth wave and 80s post-punk.

‘Riviera’ follows up on ‘Red Sycamore’ and debut single ‘Capital’. The track is drenched in electronics and synths that hook you in straight away. The crashing drums and Depeche Mode-like voice from Adam give Hound Haul an avant-garde feel.

Discussing the track further, the band added: “We wanted to create an intrinsically upbeat sound to be the background of a lyrically darker overtone, drawing inspirations from 80s synth wave such as Depeche Mode and blending it with big indie hooks, the likes of Bloc Party and Foals.

“‘Riviera’ is the idea of a place in ourselves that is full of debauchery but is also this perfect idea of paradise.”

Early 2020 saw Hounds Haul continue live shows whilst perfecting their sound. They were working with legendary local producer Ben ‘Faz’ Farestvedt at Damage Audio in Bedford who assisted on heir first studio single.

The band have a wide range of musical preferences behind them from Rien’s classical influences to Tom’s love for heavy metal. ‘Riviera’ is a big step up from their previous work. By adding bigger riffs and louder hooks, Hounds Haul are becoming a band to watch.
