East London trio Hazel are emerging through the London scene with the release of their debut single ‘Occupy My Sun’.

Formed by Trevor Heaton in 2018 at his studio in Gunfactory Studios, he is joined by Anto Cossu (vocals), Levi Heaton (keys), recently added members bassist Delia Ray and drummer Calvin Baeno to make a five-piece.

‘Occupy My Sun’ is a slowly progressive track with melodic and dreamy riffs and smooth vocals. The track was picked up by John Kennedy on Radio X and Amazing Radio gave it a spin.

In the single, there are also some psychedelic tones alongside electronic hooks and synths. Hazel penetrates your senses with a mellow alt rock sound, melding different tones to create an enchanting and all-inclusive unit. The outfit recorded a live session of ‘Occupy My Sun’ and a second track titled ‘History’.

Speaking about their progression, Trevor said: “Having the studio at my disposal has been a godsend, there’s always a creative vibe around the place and I’ve been able to fit time in to focus on writing, developing and recording the songs.

“In the last year bringing in the other members has really helped to bring texture to the recordings and complete the live set up.

“Having other people’s involvement and input stops it becoming too sterile and means I don’t have to wear too many hats!”
