Friday Pilots Club deliver dance floor-ready alt rock anthems

Crammed with irresistible grooves, big riffs and even bigger choruses, Friday Pilots Club are soon to be your new favourite band.

Formed in 2017 as a duo of vocalist Caleb Hiltunen and bassist Drew Polivick, the Chicago-based combo has grown in recent years to include guitarists Sean Burke and James Kourafas and drummer Eric Doar, whose contributions propelled the band forward.

The five-piece has just released new single ‘We Don’t Wanna Talk’ which is taken from their forthcoming debut album Nowhere, out May 9th. Hitting you with Nothing But Thieves-esque sounds and gripping riffs, the single is a dance floor-ready anthem.

Having only released a steady stream of singles and EPs in the last seven years – including 2022’s EP I LOVE YOU, ROBOT SUPERSTAR – Friday Pilots Club will be releasing 12 tracks that exemplify the band’s penchant for writing songs rife with addictive choruses that leave no doubts.

“We’d kind of been working with the title of Nowhere for the record and I’ve been trying to figure out why it felt right to me,” says Polivick, whilst speaking on their forthcoming debut album. “Sometimes you end up at this place that’s not exactly what you thought it was gonna be. We all had this idea of what Friday Pilots Club was, is and will be, and it’s not that.

“We all thought going to Georgia was gonna go a certain way, and it didn’t, which makes you feel like you’ve ended up nowhere. But we realized ‘nowhere’ is actually a place you can live in, in that it’s maybe not the destination you wanted, but it’s the destination you’re at. There’s beauty in that somewhere.”
