ELLiS-D crafts unique brand of melodic and gripping rock grooves

Fastly emerging indie soul artist ELLiS·D is fully geared up to release his brand new single titled ‘Puppeteering’.

Since the lockdown began in March, the musician has been focusing on incorporating a wider range of styles into his music ranging from funk and soul drummers to melancholic guitar melodies and post-punk psychedelia.

‘Puppeteering’ is his second release providing a unique brand of melodic and gripping grooves with ominous and dark cascading vocals that give an aura to his music which hooks the listener instantly into curiosity of what may lie ahead.

The track was written upon a philosophical thought asks the unanswered questions of who we really are and why we so desperately want to escape from our own identities and from the real world.

ELLiS-D said: “I wanted to set aside my preconceived ideas of what it means to dissociate from yourself and explore why we feel the need to escape from our identity.

“In trying to figure out who we really are, we often look to those closest to us for answers – and find solace in the reflection of ourselves we see in them.”

Whilst veering between psychedelic jangle and post-punk attack, ELLiS-D creates honest, passionate lyrics concerning the deep-set anxieties of the modern world. The ominous and dark cascading vocals produce an aura to his music which hooks the listener instantly into curiosity of what may lie ahead.

His clever use of a happy sounding and psychedelic feeling chorus contrasts directly with the underlying melancholic vibes from this track, which gives ELLiS·D’s music an edge among other artists that few could match.
