Cruel Hearts Club are punk rockers rifled with grunge pop

After a busy end to 2019 supporting The Libertines, grunge-pop rockers Cruel Hearts Club kicked off the new decade with single ‘Suck It Up’.
Rising from the ashes under previous name LOCK, the all-female trio are a diva-fuelled, riff-heavy punk rockers with some musical pedigree behind them. Edie Langley’s partner is The Libertines’ Carl Barat (vocals, guitar), her sister Gita (vocals, synths, guitar) is married to singer-songwriter Ed Harcourt and family friend Gabi Woo on drums rounds off the trio’s line up.
Featuring cheerleader chants, gnarly distortion and overflowing with attitude, ‘Suck It Up’ is just the right amount of sass you’re looking for in 2020 after the explosive impact the debut single ‘Hey Compadre’ had.
Cruel Hearts Club are a true force of nature in the spirit of womanhood, sisterhood and motherhood, they also included their children in the music video to send out a message of solidarity and girl-power.
On the deeper meaning of the track they added: “Suck It Up’ is about escaping a monotonous world and beginning a new life, without the judgement and closed-minded old-world views projected onto humanity. It’s about finding your own promised land-one that makes you happy.”
