Arcades return in confidence and style with ‘Say Hello’

Leicester indie rock ‘n’ rollers Arcades has released its new single ‘Say Hello’ earlier this month ahead of their debut EP Religion out March 6.
The quartet burst at the seams with a confident, strutting style, straight from the golden era of rock ‘n’ roll. The band’s sound has no limits, their slower ballads examine a heartfelt state of mind that contrasts with their emotional but fast indie rock anthems.
‘Say Hello’ sure packs a tasty punch, lead singer Tommy Cobley owns the moment through raw emotion and passion that oozes from a place deep inside. Looking like a deleted scene from Scarface and with foot stomping rhythm the rest of the band are certainly not in the shadows when it comes to their pure talent and energy when playing to a live audience.
Lead singer Tommy Cobley explains the deeper meaning behind the lyrics: “it’s a tune about the music industry’s strange ways and how some bands seem to have it given to them on a plate.” The chorus line, “Show me the money let it talk” talks about the divide between working class bands that are prepared to graft and the silver spoon kids who somehow have already go their seats warmed at No.1″ he adds, “we’re not one of those bands.”
Now with four successful singles each (‘Shangri La’, ‘Sha La La’, ‘Grande Rogue’ & ‘Kiddo’) backed by BBC Introducing and BBC 6 Music, Arcades are quickly becoming one of the UK’s most excited new bands.
